oh, glory.

I'm really bored, so I'm just going to link to some albums that I dig, for one reason or another. This isn't classic must have albums. It's just stuff I like. There is way more than this.

Wu Tang Clan - Enter The Wu Tang (36 Chambers)
I wouldn't be the biggest fan of hip-hop, but this album. The beats. The whole. I can't express it. It's so relevant, even today.

Alanis Moriesette - Jagged Little Pill
Because who doesn't love some self-righteous teenage angst?

American Idiot: The Musical (can't find a link anywhere, argh.)
I adore American Idiot like none other, and I really debated to put it in here, but I chose the musical version, mostly because I am a massive musical freak. I love them. This is amazing. It's a rock-musical (now I want to put Spring Awakening in here, ah!) which appeals to me like woah. First time I heard 21 Guns I was blown away.

Avril Lavinge - The Best Damn Thing
Yeah, I see you rolling your eyes. Don't scorn, this is a great album.

B.O.B. - The Adventures Of Bobby Ray
The singles aren't good. The rest, is. Letters From Vietnam, if you download just one track from this album, let it be Letters From Vietnam.

Bikini Kill - The CD Version Of The First Two Records
Riot Grrl! I'm sure you know my love for riot grrl, just go through my rants tag. This cd changed my life, no joke.

Diana Vickers - Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree
This may be a mass-market produced album, but it's a good mass-market produced album.

The Dresden Dolls - The Dresden Dolls
I love this album so much. The whole ""Brechtian punk cabaret", the term Amanda invented, is right up my pebble-dash lane.

edit: lol wat half this post is gone missing. okay, go get Frank Turner - England Keep My Bones. That's the most important one out of the list.

I'm going to reminisce about Avril Lavinge and Alanis Moriesette, and give The Dresden Dolls, Bikini Kill, Frank Turner and Diana Vickers a go. I love new music, thanks.

I had time on my hands when I should really be editing IHABTU :3 so I'm glad some use came out of my procrastination!

Hope you like at least one of them! I have an eclectic taste in music, to say the least.

One day when I similarly 'have time on my hands', I shall tell you about my ridiculous 'eclectic' taste in music. I am currently trying to push a band called Lacuna Coil (melodic metal) on people - http://www.mediafire.com/?5xrqacn7afdc1m0.

Oh, I like Lacuna Coil! They are fairly awesome. I've only heard one album but it was very good. No idea which one it was, unfortunately. Thanks for the link!

I have all their albums, plus EPs (I think). This is their newest album, and I think it's their most accessible, if not their 'best'. They're putting out another in Jan, I am sooo excited. Hope you like.

Ridiculously late comment (and there will probably be a few more as I troll your journal to learn about you) but I like Under My Skin better. More emotional. When it comes to individual performers compared to bands, I like when they're upset rather than happy.

I agree with DD. I performed Bad Habit as a monologue in drama class in tenth grade, and I love that the merch shirt I have looks way more steampunk than band merch. Not that I don't love a good massive name blasted across my chest, but a clock with dancers is a nice change.
