In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Drop a link to your post in the comments. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.

in some ways, this was much easier than yesterday's challenge. but it was also so much harder. to choose just three fanworks that are worthy of praise? impossible!

every fanwork is worthy of praise. we can laugh at self-inserts, mary-sues and terrible grammar, but you know what? the creator is making an effort. i'm sure we all look back at our old works and cringe, especially comparing it to more recent pieces. but you know, everyone has to start somewhere. and if that somewhere is with a first-person, self-insert story about how you became harry styles's girlfriend, that's great! you made the effort to plot something, took the time to write it down, and made the scary scary scary step of posting it for the world to see, to critique, to laugh or to praise. go you! one day, you too can be the next bnf. you've made a step, and that alone deserves praise.

having said that, there are always works that deserve more attention, (in the sense of they have not received enough praise yet!), in my opinion.

the first is pages in your passport by [personal profile] fire_juggler . this is one of my all-time favourite podfics. [personal profile] fire_juggler  is known for her comforting voice and this is no exception. i think maybe the fact that pete/mikey isn't such a popular pairing, and also soccer, might have contributed to the low feeback rate for this one :( however, i think it is her finest work and i would highly rec it to everyone. it's maybe so much not a comfort story, as poor pete is quite melodramatic and sad in this story, but just [personal profile] fire_juggler  reading the phone book or the back of the cereal box would be comforting to me.

the second is a kind of three in one rec. i don't care if it counts are more than one, they are all related. a dear author, love this podficcer letter is something i've been attempting to word for a long time, in a clear and concise manner, without insulting anyone, hurting any feelings or attacking anyone personally. i haven't had much success, so i turned to these amazing examples to assist me. they are all well-written, helpful letters written by podficcers for authors who may not even know what podficcing is when they first receive a message.
[personal profile] revolutionaryjo  has one here, [personal profile] paraka  one here, [personal profile] podlizzie  one here and [personal profile] greedy_dancer here . they are all very interesting and helpful, and i highly reccommend you read them, whether you are an author, or podficcer.

my third rec is the list of hockey fandom primers curated by [personal profile] jedusaur  on [community profile] theyretotallypucking . when i was starting out, it was an invaluable resource, and remains that today, for when i want to go back and laugh at the great primers linked within, or to drag someone else, kicking and screaming, into hockey, with photos of silly man-children and photos of their exploits.

so, those are my recs! hope you find something you like in it :D
