One Direction Voice Meme!
Jul. 12th, 2012 12:29 am1. How did you get sucked into the One Direction madness? (do you want to blame someone in particular?) How long ago did it happen?
2. What do you wish the next record will be like?
3. Who is your favourite? (and don't say you love them equally. If you can't judge otherwise, look into your 1D folder on your computer, which member's photos have you saved the most? or whose photos do you reblog the most on Tumblr) What is it about this person you like so much? Has your favourite changed during the time you've been involved in the fandom?
4. Who is your least favourite? (I know this might seem horrible, but try. We know you still love them even if they're not your favourite.) Has that changed?
5. Have you seen them live? If so, how was it? If not, would you like to?
6. Do you have an otp in this fandom? If you do, tell us a bit about why the pairing is your favourite?
7. Do you have a One Direction pairing that you don't particularly ship/like to read?
8. Do you have favourite story tropes? What are they?
9. Is there a 1D fic you wish someone would write?
10. Are you working on a story right now? Do you want to tell us a little about it?
11. Anything else you'd like to add?

AI8 podfic: Shame Those Stars
Jul. 10th, 2012 07:37 pmTitle: Shame Those Stars
(Oh, and I have a huuuge favour to ask: is anyone willing to beta a podfic? It's going to be a long one, at least four hours, and I've only got the first hour recorded so far. It's an infamous bandom fic... ;) General cheerleaders are also awesome :D)

Makeup Meme!
Apr. 17th, 2012 09:33 pmI'll admit it - I love makeup. I pay too much for it, relatively speaking. I buy expensive stuff, therefore I do not own much of it.
However, what you see here is nowhere near the amount of stuff I own. Oops.
Week In The Life - Monday
Apr. 2nd, 2012 06:43 pmTHG/HDM anyone?
Mar. 12th, 2012 08:44 pmThen I started to put together my favourite universes with it. I love dystopians and the such like and I started to put the A Song of Ice and Fire series with daemons (As regards to the Starks: Jon and Arya have direwolves, Sansa some sort of bird or butterfly maybe, Robb a dog of some sort, Bran a dog also and Rickon... I dunno. Haven't thought that far.) and I got all excited and started plotting.
Then I splashed water all over me and got distracted :( But then! When I got back to cleaning the dishes, I thought of how excited I was for The Hunger Games. (How excited? VERY!) Then.
THE HUNGER GAMES/HIS DARK MATERIALS CROSSOVER ANYONE?
Something about the unspoken rule that daemons aren't to be touched, and someone touches Katniss/Finnick/Peeta/Rue/Whoever's daemon and idk I haven't thought that far but :DD???
Anyone want to write that for me? xD
meme thingy!
Feb. 27th, 2012 08:08 pmFirst TV show I had self-insertion fantasies about:
There was this weekly(?) magazine called W.I.T.C.H. about these girls who had magic powers. I was addicted. Although I didn't know it at the time, it was my first fanfiction. I LARP-d kiddie style with my friends, collected every single thing to do with it, visited the website daily and made potions n' shit.
First fandom in which I interacted (online and in person) with other fans:
Online, it was properly Harry Potter. I can't remember before that - I have a feeling there was something else. There was also the House of Night series in which I role-played, wrote awful fic and had long meaningful discussions. I guess that counts? But yeah, Harry Potter. Isn't it for most? I wasn't the biggest fan though, so I'll go with HoN. I still talk to people I met on the boards I frequented!
Pairing in the first slash fanfiction I read:
Oh man. I don't think I even realised it, but Harry/Draco. Or else it was when I fell into Glee with a bam and read everything to do with Kurt. It might've been Kurt/Finn, I presume then.
First RPS/RPF I read:
It was in Glee, I'm fairly sure. A Chris/Mark fic. Man I loved that pairing. Then I fell into bandom, and well. You know what happens then.
First fanfiction I read that made me think, 'YES, this is exactly the kind of fanfiction I'd like to write...':
I think it was by
Pairing in the first fanfiction I wrote:
I think it was femslash. Trust me, eh? Zoey/Stevie Ray, I thiiink, from HoN.
First OTP:
Kurt/Puck. Man, why did I start in Glee (properly).
First fannish friend I met in person:
I went to a few meetups and met people there, but I was following
First character I formally roleplayed:
I think it was in HoN, an awful OC who listened to Fall Out Boy and had emo bangs. Gawd.

I unfortunately can't offer podfics as I have no recording device present :( (Unless you're desperate and I can use my laptop. With it's horrific recording abilities!)
But I can offer other things! Drawings of whatever, covers of songs, me bashing the ukulele into some semblance of music, the only song with words that I can play on the piano which is Spotlight by Patrick Stump, whatever!
Ask and you shall receive! I honestly don't mind, ask for whatever you want. (Except a paragraph describing how awesome you are because it will end up being 'yeah, you're cool. um yeah so.')

Title: New Steps
Written By:
Fandom: Bandom
Pairing: Frank/Gerard
Length: 24 Minutes
Rating: PG
Gerard is BORED with it, okay. He wants to dance his own steps, and he's gonna do it. A Strictly Ballroom AU not!fic. Will likely make absolutely no sense at ALL if you haven't seen the movie, which is one of the best things in the entire fucking universe.
Links: MP3 (22mb), hosted thanks to
Notes:
This was so much fun to record! I've actually never seen Strictly Ballroom, but I totally get it. DANCE :D

Jan. 29th, 2012 08:47 pmNope.
I made a rec list of awesome bandom podfics you should download RIGHT NOW yup, but it DOES. NOT. WANT. TO. POST. CORRECTLY.
So uh check it out at my livejournal for once?
Oh, you guys. I am sorry. I haven't posted anything since a Doctor Who ficlet, and nothing long since I Have Been All Things Unholy.
Oh!- regarding Megaupload and the closure of it- IHBATU was hosted on it, and lord of almighty but do I not want to reupload that baby. It took a whole day. So unfortunately if you want to download it, it's not possible to get an MP3 file of it. However! There was a podbook posted of it, (thank you
Snowflake Challange: Day Two
Jan. 4th, 2012 08:03 pmIn your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Drop a link to your post in the comments. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.
Fic: We Should Take the Road Less Traveled (1950s college AU) by
I really, really, really like this fic. Jon and Ryan are just so right, and I don't even like this pairing.
Person:
I admit it, I'm there for the icons. But Hev churns ut fic like a machine. In a good way. They are all awesome. She deserves more love, non?
Fest: Bandom Pretend Dating
Okay, so it's no exactly a lesser-known thing. But it's given us so many amazing fics and podfics, and there are still prompts left to fill! Go go go! What is there is delightful, and Penny did a great job of managing it.

Podfic: Meet In The After Awhile
This was one of the first podfics I recorded, and, in a way, the biggest challange for me. I lost all the files when I was nearly done editing, and it took a damned long time to get it finished, but I'm so glad I did. If somebody else had podficced this, it would be my comfort-podfic, the one I listen to when I'm down. As it is, I don't listen to my own podfic all that often (my own voice grates my ears!) but I do listen to this one because it gives me a warm, happy feeling in knowing that the war is over, Frank and Gerard are happy, Mikey is getting married and they are all happy. After the horrors of the war, don't they deserve it?
Art: Girl!Frankie
Here's the deal. I'm not done with this yet. But I've been working on it for ages as a gift for my friend, because she made me an actual, honest to god painting. As I am not artistically inclined, I declined on her idea for me to do likewise. Instead I fired up trusty GIMP, and got out my tablet. There is still an awful lot to get done, and I'll never finish it at the rate I'm going - still have all the face details, shading, some bits to colour and tidying, such as making her face a proper shape. I've done this picture from start to finish on the computer, though, nothing by hand so I'm quite happy. (Ignore those lines around her face too. Mhm.)
Podfic: Love, Sex, And Parachutes
It's not anything special - a crack-tacular fic. But it's fun and requires no prior knowledge of bandom so hey. It's not heavy and I listen to it sometimes, despite my aversion to my own voice.
Podfic 2011 Meme!
Jan. 2nd, 2012 06:40 pmStats:
I have posted (made about 15!) 9 podfics this year! Or, since September, which woah. Go me!
The total length was 07:14:39!
This is an average of 48 minutes per podfic!
8 of these were in bandom, and one was in Doctor Who!
What was the best podfic you made this year?
The best? I am proud of everything I did, but I am very proud of how quickly I got through I Have Been All Things Unholy. I didn't think I'd been able to do that. I also liked Meet in The After Awhile. I've recorded that one three times, twice with a crappy set-up and once with a proper one. Up The Line is still one of my favourite stories so to be able to do something from that universe makes me happy.
Most popular?
I Have Been All Things Unholy, thankfully. Of course, I am happy with any response to my work but I was really hoping for a good response to this one in particular and it did! I had 17 comments, and as of now, 303 downloads. LJ doesn't do page counts, unfortunately.
Most under appreciated?
I'm pretty happy with all of them, except Missed Your Skin While You Were East. That is still one of my favourite stories, but I do know why it didn't get such a good response, mainly as it is part of a series where it is very advisable to read the other parts first (one is already podficced but part 2 hasn't been one, and I did part 3.)
Personal favorite, for whatever reason?
I Have Been All Things Unholy, for obvious reasons \o/
Most difficult to make?
Despite the rush, IHBATU was easy. I flew through it. As still as of yet, unposted Glee podfic called Ash is killing me. It was one of my first podfics, and it was great and I was proud of it as I went to hit save. Audicity crashed. I have tried everything to get it back, but I am only left with the raw files. I can't stand to look at it anymore!
Most "ah ha ha I can't believe I'm doing this"?
IHBATU - "why am I even trying to get this done in a MONTH I am mental."
Most fun to make?
CJ Cregg Never Had This Problem was so much fun!
Was there one that didn't turn out the way you wanted?
Yeah, a Glee one that I haven't posted. I forget it's name now, but I was really excited for making it, but my speech patterns didn't fit it. I tried anyway, but listening back I just sounded stilted and awkward so I left it.
Biggest learning experience?
Meet in the After Awhile. It wasn't my first podfic posted, but it was recorded. I learned a lot about recording, such as visual marks like claps to help with the rough edit.
What's next? Do you have any podfic goals for next year?
I have Heaven's Not About Our Reputation half recorded, so I'm excited for that. I might make it my podfic big bang, but I am unsure I can stick to the deadlines given out in such challenges. 2012 is important exam year for me, and I have resolved to spend less time online. :| Let's see how that works out, shall we?
